Piano Instruction Classical & Jazz

Art Images Music Studios (AIMS) is a Global Internet teaching network based upon the needs of 21st Century students and lifelong learners.

Piano studies for all ages, beginner to advanced, encompass solid classical theory and practice. There is no stereotyped labeling of “Classical versus Jazz.” Students are encouraged to listen to all types and styles of music; and, with practice and a trained ear, learn how to connect the dots between the worlds of traditional and modern repertoire — from Bach to The Beatles.

Since Jim Walls‟s OMTA premier presentation of his Piano Palettes booklet in 2016, its pages have now been converted to PDF files for online teaching. Many different books, styles, and methods (as shown below) are used to promote an understanding of music theory, solid technique,

tone color, and expression — beyond the notes.

“Dear Jim, Thank you for giving TV / OMTA your premier presentation on teaching jazz piano. So well done! Everyone in the audience was very grateful to be there. Your booklet is attractive and full of nuggets of wisdom and teaching tips. Like we said in class, you have clarified many of the 'jazz concepts' and made the solid connection between jazz and classical theory and playing. By the way, you play beautifully! Thank you also for sharing your sensitive, lyrical piano playing with us.”

All periods and styles of music are covered according to the student’s interest and level.

Art Images Music Studios places emphasis on Piano Pedagogy, a progressive program for teaching the ART of piano playing. beyond the notes.

As students advance in classical studies they learn how to discover their own voice, and how to paint pictures at the piano.

Through fun use of words to match note patterns in rhythm, students learn Tempo Rubato and the “Lyrical Right Hand,” as boasted by Mozart.
